Tinko Eftimov received his PhD in Engineering Physics from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1989. He has worked for the Technical University in Sofia, the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, the Plovdiv University, Bulgaria, JDSUniphase Corp., Canada, and is currently a professor at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Canada. His research interests are in the field of optical fibers and fiber optic sensors based and are related to polarization phenomena, fiber grating applications, fiber assisted fluorescence measurements photonic powering of sensor networks. He has co-authored over 130 publications and holds 3 patents.
